STDU is een ontwerpbureau voor architectuur, stedenbouw en interieur. STDU is opgericht in 2007. STDU benadert elk project individueel vanuit een gegeven context. Wij geloven dat architectuur niet kan worden gedefinieerd buiten de context van zijn geschiedenis en sociaal-culturele aspecten. Daarom vormt een onderzoek naast architectuurstudies een aanzienlijk onderdeel van het bureau. Elke opgave en project is een proeftuin voor zijn eigen pragmatische utopische experiment. Wij investeren graag in de overlap tussen radicaal en realisme.
STDU staat voor een pragmatische architectuur. Deze aanpak stelt ons in staat een begrijpelijk concept op te stellen om aan de vereisten van elk project te voldoen. Onze flexibele houding maakt het ook mogelijk om opdrachten van elke omvang te aanvaarden op het gebied van publieke bouw, commerciële ontwikkelingen, woningbouw, stedenbouw en interieurontwerp.
STDU is a young architectural practice established in 2007. STDU approaches each project individually in their given context, we believe that architecture cannot be defined outside the context of the site, its history and social-cultural aspects. This is why in addition to architectural studies, research makes up a considerable component of the office. Each building site is a testbed for its own pragmatic utopian experiment. We are devoted to investing in the overlap between radical and realism.
STDU stands for a pragmatic architecture that takes on the creation of socially, economically and environmentally perfect places as a practical objective. This approach allows us to raise a comprehensible concept in order to meet the requirements of each project. This flexible attitude also makes it possible to accept commissions of any scale and scope in the fields of public building, commercial development, housing, urban planning or interior design.
